Civic & Government
Architecture is always an expression of values, but no typology embodies this more than civic and government buildings. A cornerstone of our practice since the 1980s, KPMB’s civic portfolio translates the fundamental principle of a pluralist society — a respect for difference — into built form. Our buildings aspire to become civic landmarks not through overt architectural gestures, but through how they engage the public and embrace the dualities of a working democracy. They are places for celebration and protest, for dialogue and disagreement, for the everyday and the extraordinary.
