KPMB has been named the 2026 recipient of the Druker Award, presented by the Boston Public Library for outstanding contributions to architecture, urban design, and public art.
Established by the Druker family in 2001, the award and accompanying lecture help advance public understanding and appreciation of architecture and design. Past recipients have included Maya Lin, Thom Mayne, Moshe Safdie, Elizabeth Diller, Daniel Libeskind, and the late Robert A.M. Stern.
On November 7, Marianne McKenna and Paulo Rocha will accept the award on behalf of KPMB and deliver the annual public lecture at the Central Library in Copley Square.
In their presentation, More Than a Building, Marianne and Paulo will explore Boston’s urban evolution and the story behind Boston University’s Duan Family Center for Computing & Data Sciences in conversation with special guest Robert A. Brown, the university’s former president.
Through the lens of this landmark building, Marianne and Paulo will reflect on how architecture and collaboration can shape cities and create lasting social, environmental, and economic impact.
“It is an honor to present KPMB with the 2026 Druker Award,” said Boston Public Library president David Leonard. “Their rigorous, collaborative approach to architecture, one that consistently rises to meet the pressing challenges of our time, shows how design can shape not just skylines, but the everyday experience of a city. The BPL is proud to celebrate their work and its lasting impact on our community.”
“KPMB’s contributions to architecture perfectly reflect the spirit of this award,” added Ronald M. Druker, president and CEO of The Druker Company. “Their work blends rigor, craft, and a deep understanding of place, bringing thoughtful design to projects that shape communities for generations. We are honored to recognize their remarkable achievements.”
The Druker Award Lecture is free and open to the public. A livestream will also be available. Registration is required.
