Bruno Weber to co-present Odenak at Zak World of Façades

On October 7, partner Bruno Weber joins Dan McTavish, Brad Rodgers, and Brian Porter at Zak World of Façades in Toronto. Together, the design and development team behind Odenak will explore the façade of Dream’s two-tower rental community in Ottawa.

“Odenak: A Façade Shaped by Place” will discuss the buildings’ architectural expression and how Indigenous collaboration informed material choices, design intent, and connections to place and cultural identity. The project is designed by KPMB and Perkins&Will in joint venture, with support from Two Row Architect and consultant Innovation Seven.

As part of the panel, the team will also discuss the technical side of the high-performance building envelope, including the integration of curtain wall and window wall systems, prefabrication strategies, and construction approaches that improved buildability and reduced site complexity.

Set for completion in 2027, Odenak will deliver much-needed affordable housing in the LeBreton Flats neighbourhood, while supporting communities that have historically faced barriers to adequate housing through a partnership with the Multifaith Housing Initiative (MHI). Odenak is also expected to become one of Canada’s largest zero-carbon residential developments.

Zak World of Façades is a global conference series dedicated to façade design and engineering. It convenes architects, engineers, developers, contractors, and other professionals to learn about innovations and challenges related to building envelopes.
