Claudia Cozzitorto presents BIM toolkit for housing at East Coast Industry Summit

Later this week, Claudia Cozzitorto will discuss digital delivery for housing at the 2026 East Coast Industry Summit in Halifax, hosted by Building Transformations, buildingSMART Canada, and the Construction Association of Nova Scotia.

On August 13, Claudia and Valeria Cuadra of Summit BIM Consulting will present a new BIM resource from buildingSMART Canada. Produced for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) under Canada’s National Housing Strategy, “A BIM Toolkit for Housing: Enabling Digital Delivery” is a practical open resource for housing developers, builders, and operators.

The toolkit was created to standardize digital delivery and accelerate housing construction in response to Canada’s need for more homes. Although the institutional and commercial sectors have more widely adopted BIM, the residential and affordable housing sectors have lagged. The toolkit offers frameworks, templates, and implementation guidance tailored to delivering housing.

Claudia will also discuss digital innovation during “Rising Tides: Building a Workforce for the Future”. The panel conversation will address creating a resilient and tech-forward workforce. Claudia will be joined by Duncan P. Williams, president and CEO of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia; Hammad Chaudry, vice president of innovation and digital construction at Pomerleau; and Hannu Lindberg, project planning and execution leader at DPR Construction.

The 2026 East Coast Industry Summit brings professionals from across architecture, engineering, construction, development, and digital practice together to explore key topics influencing Canada’s built environment. This includes conversations on digital transformation, BIM data management, Modern Methods of Construction, mass timber and prefabrication, and more.
