On Thursday, KPMB partner Bruno Weber will join AZURE’s Human/Nature Climate Conference for a workshop titled “Respectful Process, Resilient Results: Indigenous Partnerships in Architecture” moderated by journalist Kelly Boutsalis.
As a panellist, Bruno will speak about Odenak — one of Canada’s largest zero-carbon residential projects. The two-tower development from Dream is in Ottawa’s LeBreton Flats, which has been inhabited by Indigenous peoples for thousands of years and remains unceded Algonquin territory.

Together with Dan McTavish at Perkins&Will, Weber will discuss how collaboration with Two Row and consultation with local Indigenous communities informed Odenak’s key design drivers, including affordability, sustainability, and a focus on communal gathering spaces.
More than 40 percent of the building’s 608 rental units are earmarked for populations that face barriers to adequate housing, including Indigenous peoples, according to Canada’s National Housing Strategy,
