Brian Lee
Brian Lee joined KPMB in 2025 to lead the architectural visualization department, but his journey with the firm began more than two decades earlier.
In 2002, as a Master of Architecture student at the University of Waterloo, Brian completed a three-month co-op at KPMB. He discovered his passion for 3D modelling and rendering while contributing to the design of the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa.
After graduation, Brian joined Norm Li — then a budding architectural visualization studio. Over two decades, Brian was instrumental in growing the firm into the largest of its kind in Canada.
Brian remained closely connected to KPMB while at Norm Li. He produced visualizations for the Gardiner Museum, Le Quartier Concordia, Bay Adelaide North, Massey Hall Renovation, and Canary Block 16, among others.
To his work, Brian brings a photographer’s eye for composition and lighting, but an architect’s understanding of design intent. He credits his ability to create compelling visualizations to his formal architectural training.
In his spare time, Brian enjoys playing badminton, dancing bachata, and building scale-models.
“Empathy is at the core of visualization — it requires that you imagine a person’s perspective and how they might experience a space.”
