Brian Kerr

Associate, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

A key leader of KPMB’s Cambridge studio, Brian Kerr joined the firm in 2025 after a decade at nationally recognized architecture and design practices in the northeastern United States.

Prior to KPMB, Brian spent five years at GUND Partnership, a Cambridge-based architecture and planning firm that specialized in the design of academic and educational buildings. He contributed to notable firm projects, including Thomas Hall, Winkler Hall, and the adaptive reuse of Bexley Hall at Kenyon College.

Brian is committed to creating architecture that helps address the climate crisis. He is a firm leader on sustainable design strategies and advocates for their integration into all projects. At GUND, he led the firm’s participation in the AIA 2030 Commitment and regularly educated both clients and peers about strategies for reducing embodied and operational carbon.

Before joining GUND, Brian was an architectural designer at KieranTimberlake in Philadelphia. Over five years, he contributed to several academic, cultural, and lab projects, including Weil Hall and the Kemper Art Museum at Washington University in St. Louis and the new Scaife Hall for Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.

While Brian has experience across a variety of building types, he is drawn to educational facilities due to his passion for designing spaces that bring people together.

He earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Penn State University and is a licensed architect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

"It's important to remember that people are at the heart of our work. Sometimes it is the smallest details that have the largest impact on a person's experience."
