The Landscape of Landmark Quality Project has been named winner of the “Higher Education – Residential & Recreation” category in The Architect’s Newspaper’s annual Best of Design Awards.
Led by KPMB with landscape design by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates (MVVA), the project has renewed the University of Toronto’s downtown St. George Campus with reimagined landscapes, pedestrianized car-free pathways, and a new geoexchange heating and cooling system that contributes to the university’s ongoing carbon reduction efforts.
As part of the award win, the Landmark Project will be featured in The Architect’s Newspaper’s “Best of 2025” print edition later this month. The project was also celebrated at The Architect’s Newspaper’s annual awards party in New York City last week, alongside other category-winning projects.
