We’re pleased to share that the Scotiabank North Flagship is a finalist for a 2024 SBID International Design Award.
The SBID International Design Awards celebrates exceptional talent in interior design, spotlighting interior designers, product designers, and contractors shaping the future of the interior design profession.
Scotiabank North is a new flagship location for one of Canada’s largest financial institutions and the sole Canadian finalist among the three projects shortlisted in the “Office Design Over 2,000 SqM – Americas” category.
Its first global headquarters in decades, Scotiabank North was designed with input from Scotiabank’s internal design team, employees, and a team of consultants. It was informed by equitable and democratic design guidelines encompassing inclusion, accessibility, health, and wellness.
Spaces for connection and socialization in Scotiabank North were given just as much attention as workstations. Unique third spaces outfitted with bar stools and armchairs in Scotiabank’s corporate colours are located throughout the building. On the third floor is a generously sized staff lounge named “North Commons” that looks out to Cloud Gardens Conservatory. There are interconnected bistros on floors six to nine, an art gallery on the 10th floor, and a fully furnished terrace.
Public voting is open here until September 11. Winners in regional categories will be announced on September 30, and winners for the global “Office Design Over 2,000 SqM” category will be announced on November 1.
