Director of digital practice Claudia Cozzitorto is joining the Canadian Construction Association’s Best Practices in Construction Symposium for a panel discussion about how data is transforming the planning, management, and delivery of construction projects.

The October 31 panel, titled “Data as a tool: Driving decisions in construction”, will examine the growing role of big data, analytics, and digital tools in Canadian construction. Discussion topics will include how data and predictive analytics can reduce risk and drive cost efficiencies, the growing role of BIM, and challenges related to data governance and standardization, among others.

Cozzitorto will be joined by Erik Poirier, professor at École de technologie supérieure, and Jacob Simpson, virtual design and construction manager at Turner Construction.

The session is designed for project managers, engineers, and other industry professionals interested in learning about the evolving impact of data on infrastructure development.

Cozzitorto joined KPMB in 2025 to lead the practice’s use of digital tools and technologies. She has more than 20 years of experience in the field and is a frequent speaker on topics related to technology in design and construction.

“The built environment impacts lives for generations, and our data should be treated with the same foresight,” said Cozzitorto when she joined KPMB earlier this year.
